Let the headlights lead me.
Nov. 1st, 2018 09:15 pmThere's an uncanny feeling in seeing something from a cartoon happen in real life. No exaggeration: another woman on a treadmill slipped and fell while it was still going. Just like in every cartoon I've ever seen that happen, down to the expression on her face. She grabbed the console and held on, the belt still running at high speed, before she let go, slid off, and landed on the floor with a sound I couldn't hear over my headphones but could imagine perfectly.
It took under a minute from her slipping to the landing. People rushed over to see if they could help as soon as they saw what was happening.
Thankfully, just like in every cartoon it's ever happened in, she was fine. She dusted herself off, made some small jokes, assured everyone things were okay, and went back to her workout.
Seriously, though. Uncanny in the best possible way.
