Sep. 8th, 2023 09:42 pm"Hang on, I have to go kill something" isn't something I normally say and killing things isn't something I normally seek out as a general activity, but I make an exception for invasive insects. I took some pleasure in it this afternoon, too. Just stomping the lanternflies with my sneakers and knowing it didn't have a huge impact on the overall problem but finding some comfort in knowing I participated in a small way.
It made for a tidy metaphor for life in general these days, though. So it also had that going for it.
