Ongoing challenges.
Jul. 8th, 2022 11:35 pmMy mother wants me to go to Macy's to buy a dress for an upcoming wedding. I just want to get something from eShakti. She says it's important to try on the dress. The fact that eShakt does custom measurements means there's no real need to try on the dress to begin with.
She says we'll be going together, which I hate, and that there's going to be a personal shopper, which I also hate. Personal sales people are absolute shit at coming out and saying "no." I ran into this trying to buy a rug, where I ended up defaulting on the entire proposition because nobody at any store, online or in person, could give "no" for an answer.
I recognize this isn't on the salesperson to begin with. It's still something I hate. With the rug, I kept asking if they had a highly specific item, and kept getting alternatives. If I'd been told "no" from the start, I'd have felt better, and because when I asked if they had anything in solid green with a given set of measurements, I kept getting offered items with multiple colors in alternative measurements without being told "we don't have that", I'm disinclined to anticipate the prospect of asking about dresses.
