Second snow of the season.

There's a light on the building right next to mine that shines directly into the one window of my apartment without curtains. It's not always on, but on the nights it is, I find it harder to fall asleep because of the amount of light it produces - and tonight, the snow's drifted high enough on the nearby fence to block it out. I saw a sled dog in the park today - a dog being trained to pull a sled someone rode while calling for it to mush! mush! - and that was pretty fantastic. Not so fantastic but also noteworthy was my brother and father carrying someone out of the park up to the street so she could walk a half-block to her apartment when the cold was too much for her. One of her friends out with her came up to us to ask for help, and I did my part by clearing paths in the big snowdrifts and getting people out of their way.

It's been snowing for over twelve hours now. I haven't seen snow like this since Pittsburgh. Right now I'm bundled up in three pairs of indoor socks, fingerless gloves, a sweater, my big pink bathrobe, and a scarf wrapped around my ears, and for all those reasons and more, I'm feeling pretty good.
