Touchdown.
May. 6th, 2014 04:51 pmThe first thing I did when I got back to my apartment wasn't actually dropping everything to dive for the computer. It was dropping everything to dive for the plants. Which are limp and weary but alive, unambiguously so, and that's one of the few worries about the trip banished from my mind after all that.
Now that the plants are freshly watered, and the perishable goods are in the fridge - not souvenirs, just take-out from a local grocery store because now that I'm here I'm not leaving my apartment again until at least tomorrow - it's time to meld with the internet.
140 new messages and only about 30 or so of any pressing importance. Typical ratio. Nothing like a vacation to make you realize what's worth keeping the subscriptions to.
