The first thing I did when I got back to my apartment wasn't actually dropping everything to dive for the computer. It was dropping everything to dive for the plants. Which are limp and weary but alive, unambiguously so, and that's one of the few worries about the trip banished from my mind after all that.

Now that the plants are freshly watered, and the perishable goods are in the fridge - not souvenirs, just take-out from a local grocery store because now that I'm here I'm not leaving my apartment again until at least tomorrow - it's time to meld with the internet.

140 new messages and only about 30 or so of any pressing importance. Typical ratio. Nothing like a vacation to make you realize what's worth keeping the subscriptions to.

Now here is a weird question. Do you remember the cd mix you made for me when I was working on Power Generation *and* working on the movie in Toronto?? Do you have a track listing of it? It seems to have been several computers ago as well as many house movings and I don't have the cd anymore and I really really liked it.......
