I’m seven episodes into the fourth season of Parks and Recreation, and I’ve come to the conclusion that Leslie Knope is the most heroic Slytherin ever to be on TV. Possibly any piece of fiction ever.

While he’s not nearly so driven in his professional life, Chris is another character similarly defined by ambition - so into Slytherin he goes. As is Tom, who unfortunately has nothing but ambition and no way to capitalize on it.

Jerry, on the other hand, has no ambition to speak of. He’s not particularly hardworking or dedicated to a moral code. What he does have is the foresight to see what it is he wants out of life - a happy home, a loving family - and found the best option to let him pursue that. Which is a smart decision if there ever was one. Into Ravenclaw he goes.

April goes into Ravenclaw for similar reasons. And knowing her, I don’t doubt she’s been taking community college classes since she was twelve, if for no other reason than to hold being a college student over everyone else in middle school.

Ron is as classic a Gryffendor as is possible to be. This is a man who’s dedicated his life to doing the right thing, which is usually what he thinks that should be, and every so often on the rarest of occasions, is something which goes against his personal desires and beliefs but is the right thing to do just the same. Andy is likewise dedicated, as is Donna - Donna’s ideals being more self-centered than Andy’s, at any rate.

Ann and Ben are the office’s Hufflepuff contingent, and I don’t think anything can convince me otherwise.
