Happy genius heroes.
Dec. 8th, 2012 11:15 pmIn case anyone's missed it,
kouredios has a friending meme going on right now, and even after a strong espresso it's too late for me to sift through every page and uncover all the awesome. Tomorrow and Monday, however - and by then, there's going to be yet more awesome to be found.
To everyone coming here, hello! It's nice to see you here. I've been present in online fandom in one way or another since about 1996 - I distinctly remember learning about the internet and thinking, "Wow! Now I can talk to people who share my interests that live outside of my ZIP code!" Very little has changed since then. I've moved around somewhat, from message boards and mailing lists and assorted blogging platforms, but it's still a way to talk to people I wouldn't otherwise get to know.
I'm going to be 26 for a few more months. I do almost all of my own cooking, a lot of my baking, and I've got my MLIS and currently working in a synagogue with the official title of "cemetery records assistant." I've kept lizards and rabbits as pets, enjoy armchair travel due to a limited budget, and believe that it's possible but highly unlikely to have too much tea. I've lived in San Francisco and Pittsburgh, and currently live in New York City - and in fact today I got my first jury summons, which is as good a sign of residency as any. I haven't done anything with my paid account for DW, but I hope to finally tidy up, install a moodtheme, and maybe upload a few more icons.
Despite having never played the game, even for a minute, I've written over 100,000 words of fic for a linked nine-piece story cycle for Team Fortress 2 with the end not yet in sight. I'm looking forward to getting there. Past fandoms I've written for that I feel I can be proud of what I've made include Supernatural, House MD, and Pirates of the Caribbean. I'm always up for reading, meta, discussion, and squee, and meeting up with people face-to-face when I find out they're within or adjacent to my ZIP code. I know some seriously wonderful coffee shops.
