Steady glow.
Dec. 5th, 2012 11:42 pmSince my boss will be going on vacation for just over three weeks, from Monday to January second, she figured I might go on vacation as well. This is a bit of pragmatism on her part - we're getting close to reaching the end of this project, and neither of us can contribute to it without the other there, since she does the planning and coordinating and I do the legwork. There's a little bit left to last me the week, and then I won't be coming in for the rest of December.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to it. I won't get any paychecks, which I'll miss, but I'll have more time for writing and job hunting, and by the time I get back there should be a couple more weeks' worth of things to do before I work myself out of a job - wouldn't be the first time - and it's knowing I'll be coming back to something with a nice, fresh feeling that's got me cheerful about the prospect.
That, and sleeping in and writing more. Heck, I can take a couple of nights to just go ahead and finish a small story for a gift exchange, guilt-free. And then see about cracking 50,000 on my current work in progress. Just you watch me.
