Own the mike.

I've been having trouble on a particular story for a few weeks now, with figuring out what the plot would be, how to approach it, what the tone and point of view would be like, and just about everything. I started writing it two weeks ago, and got about 600 words in before shoving everything I had aside and deciding to start over.

Yesterday I scribbled out a page of notes in a coffee shop over a latte. Tonight I sat down at my laptop, opened up the latest document, and about three hours later, had an 1800-word working first draft.

Funny how these things work out.
