On consuming habits.
Jul. 18th, 2011 10:36 pmThe kitchen's busy for another half-hour while people watch some TV. The last show that was on was one of those marriage set-up shows - maybe The Bachelor, maybe The Bachelorette, something with a beach. I didn't find out. But I did hear one of the girls remark a meal on the beach was 'sexy.' The only possible response to that I could give was, "That's not sexy at all."
When she asked what I meant, I told her that none of the people on the show looked like they were enjoying themselves, and that they were all cookie-cutter for TV. None of them were happy to be there. She laughed it off and said she'd been joking, that she watched shows like that because they were "nice porn."
"Nice porn? Nice porn? I've GOT nice porn on my computer, if you WANT nice porn."
I was of course thinking of the oodles and oddles of fanart and fanfic I've got saved, where nobody is cookie-cutter or mass-produced and everyone's enjoying themselves.
It's really not sexy unless everyone's happy to be there.
(Or it's catering to someone's kinks, but that's the advanced porn, and if she's watching that sort of TV, baby steps.)
