Cover me in rag and bone.
Jul. 16th, 2011 11:35 pmIt's highly possible this current fic will be done by the end of August, if I keep at it diligently. I'm really enjoying having a long-term large-scale project that's got a framework and structure and an endpoint I know I can meet through my own efforts without having to rely on a song-and-dance routine at a job interview. And having something creative to focus on is always beneficial to my well-being. I've been at the Y for almost a year, I still don't have a job yet, and I'll be moving again in about a month, so having something going forward that makes me happy and gets me to engage instead of just lying around limply is pretty beneficial right about now.
Of course, the end of August will probably just be the first draft. I have no idea how long editing it will take. At least another month, I'd think. And then there's the other stories spawning in the same continuum that I want to get to while my enthusiasm's still high.
In other news, I need to write up the six-mile walk I took last Friday, and as nice as it would be for other people to pay attention to the communal fridge, there's something deeply satisfying in throwing out things that shouldn't be fuzzy, melting, or solid. Thankfully, not all at once. Not yet, anyway.
