Go all out.

I tried calling my Ellis Island supervisor to see if I could set up a meeting for us to talk about my volunteer gig and what it might or might not have in the near future.

Turns out he's in Minnesota until next Monday. Among other things, this retroactively absolves yesterday's absence of any and all guilt. I'll be taking this Thursday off too - a museum or two sounds pretty nice - and given that I'll need to give him advance notice of a meeting for him to get his thoughts in order, as he's that sort of supervisor, next Monday off is a tempting proposition as well.
