Respect the dairy.
Apr. 6th, 2011 10:42 pmAt some point I should tally up the things I've gotten that other people discarded thanks to close-quarter living situations. Tonight I can add "gourmet cheese" to the list.
Some of the girls on the floor went to a mixer downstairs and brought some leftovers back up here - precut vegetables, little sandwiches, cookies, cheeses, grapes, stuff like that. They nibbled on it for most of the night, and a little while ago, I went back to check on the plates, and yes, they left quite a bit behind. And it's not like it'd improve in quality left out overnight, and it wasn't like anyone else wanted any, otherwise they'd have eaten or taken it by then. I didn't run to my room to get some containers, but it was definitely a hustle, and now I've got four kinds of fancy cheese stashed next to my risotto and Thai chicken stir-fry.
And just tonight I was thinking how one of the best restaurants I know of is my kitchen. Funny how that works out.
