Travelogue.

Within two hours of meeting deelaundry in Baltimore last Saturday, we'd already come up with a Stargate Atlantis AU set in the late 1800s to early 1900s set in Canada where Rodney's a lighthouse-keeper and John's a retired naval officer who's working in a shipyard, with Ronon and Teyla as merchant traders. It set the tone for the weekend rather nicely.

Saturday I had to get up at five-thirty but overslept and had to leap out of bed at six to catch a bus at six-twelve to get on a plane at nine to get to Baltimore just after ten. It was worth it, because running up to someone to hug them is one of the best things in the world.

So all in all, a weekend well spent.

A fine how-do-you-do.

Dell moved the delivery date of my new computer up by a week.

I've passed the "oh fuck" and "cry in the bathroom" stages of this news, and will bring my old laptop to ITS this Friday to fix the wireless - the time they would've put Microsoft Office and associated software onto the new laptop - and I've already e-mailed my landlady and housemates and basically begged them to stay in the house that day, and even offered to pay them for the waiting.

I don't know how else to deal with this whole mess, other than to keep moving forward.

Fuckers.

I very much want to post an entry ranting about a large number of subjects, but I know there's no point in it - for one thing, I'd offend the musical sensibilities of a significant number of people who read this journal, and anger's more or less a wasted emotion.

I still don't anticipate anyone asking me about anything at all, which will pretty much guarantee disappointment, but as long as I'm prepared for that I should be reasonably well-off.
