Challenge #7

In your own space, create a list of at least three things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a wishlist of sorts. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your wishlist if you feel comfortable doing so. Maybe someone will grant a wish. Check out other people's posts. Maybe you will grant a wish. If any wishes are granted, we'd love it if you link them to this post.

1. Still on the top of the list is a post-canon Buffy the Vampire Slayer fic based on the "gird your loins" scene from The Devil Wears Prada where it's Buffy as Miranda, commanding that level of respect and control over the situation as a defense mechanism against everyone wanting something from her. Few people write Buffy as an older woman, and even fewer try to reckon with a vastly changed world years or decades after the end of the show. So I'm wishing for it again this year.

2. Transformative works based on my fics - fanart, banners, covers, podfics, moodboards - are always a joy and never gets old. I'll wish for them, too.

3. I'd like to see the TV show Mrs. Davis at some point, but it's not on any physical media for me to easily find and track down. As such, if anyone has that to share, I'd be delighted.

4. As asked in previous years, I'm playing around with a pair of original projects and my usual rubber duck plotters - the ones who nod and say things like "tell me more" in a calm and serious voice - are busy with various real life responsibilities and obligations. If anyone's interested in helping plot out and refine contemporary urban fantasy novels about sibling dynamics and systems of power, I'm eager and ready.

5. Not so much for me to receive, but for me to benefit from: Attendance at fandom cons. I know it's not always easy to travel, or to carve out a weekend months ahead of time, and that the cost can be prohibitive, but without people, the cons are going to slowly disappear. They're too much a vital part of fandom to wither away. So talk them up to your friends who might not know about them. Tell them to tell their other friends, too. Spread the word, share the news. Let them know they're still around and they're a good way to achieve one of the sublime joys of fandom: putting faces to names.

Not on the list is an agent and book contract, because as much as I wish for those, they're more of a quest than a dream.
