Show the ghost to me.
Oct. 24th, 2024 10:10 pmI've been looking down at the leaves changing. From my parents' building's roof, it's a good view across the Hudson and into some parks, and the color's coming in and moving down, gradually making its way through the trees. It's got to be coming from sunshine and the way the light hits them, which is something I've been noticing too. The way the light slants across windows and through dry leaves.
There haven't been enough changes here for my liking or my peace of mind. There's only been a couple of days this month it was chilly enough for a sweatshirt. It'd be nice if more came along soon, fast, and hard, since not every tree goes by sunshine alone. Some need the cold. I want the cold. At least, I want some edge in the air. But there's nothing I can do for that, so for now, I'll make do with the sound of dry leaves and the sight of them lit by sunshine.
