Jul. 25th, 2023 08:35 pmIn today's biking adventures, I collided with a dragonfly while biking at high speeds. I didn't get a good look at what exactly hit me in the face, but judging from the wildlife I'd seen earlier and the size of what hit me, I don't think it was a sparrow or a hummingbird.
I spent a little time out walking after the ride, and it was a strange, lovely feeling to look out westward, see the clouds, and figure out about how many hours I had before the rain arrived. It was a thunderstorm - not very loud, but it lasted a while - and I've been here long enough that while it's still wonderful, it's not new anymore. And I can tell when one's coming well enough to not be surprised anymore. It's a skill I didn't realize I'd developed until today.
