It figures.

The week I decide to be more open, sociable, and adherent to social norms, neither of my sisters in law show up for Friday night dinner. It's highly doubtful either of them will attend next week, much less be in New York City. I'll still attempt to put in the work to follow social norms - it's just a big moment of disappointment, and feeling like it's all in vain. I know full well it's because of things outside of my control: one of them didn't show up because she had a friend coming in from out of town, and the other one simply doesn't show up. Still. It would've felt nice to have some external confirmation that putting in the effort was met with equal reward.

In better news...no, I've got nothing. It's not bad, simply very, very disappointing.
