Touched down.

My iPad is still on New York time, and so is my brain. The day’s been long by any metric - I couldn’t manage sleep last night, too wired to be tired - so even the fumes I’m on are starting to fade.

But. I cried on the plane when it was over Colorado, seeing those mountains. A bit, and still, it wasn’t the Sierras, and it hit me there I was going someplace I hadn’t seen in a long time. At the airport, the light hit the trees and I thought, this is where it is, too.
