Falls into the night.
Aug. 18th, 2021 09:48 pmIt's a New York City thing to buy stuff out of vans, right?
Because if so, I did a New York City thing today. Rushing out when I got a notice they were almost here, paying in cash, the whole shebang.
A few weeks ago, I found out the store that usually stocks a popsicle brand I love decided not to sell that brand this year. A couple of weeks ago, I emailed the company to ask if there were other locations in NYC where I could go to buy their products. About a week ago, someone emailed me to let me know yes, there's a single location out in the Bronx that carries them, and also yes, I could buy a 24 count box if I wanted to do a bulk order.
I asked if they had the flavor I fell in love with a long time ago in stock.
They did.
So I paid in cash and used exact change, heading out right when I got the text, coordinating by quick phone calls about where things were parked. It was pretty delightful, especially since I've now got a box full of my favorite banana popsicles taking up about a quarter of my total freezer space.
And because they threw in an extra chocolate-covered banana popsicle, just because they wanted to.
I still plan on trekking out to the Bronx at some point. But not until my freezer's emptied.
