Chapter seven of The Tiger is Out is up, where the outside world starts making itself known in Joe’s life, and vestibular systems are truly wonderful things.
Tangentially, I'm watching Road to Perdition, and it was a delight to see the Mayor pop up, even if it was just for a moment. A wonderful moment in a movie chock full of them.
Related to wonderful moments, a couple of pigeons got into a fight on the ledge right across from my window. Grabbing each other by the beak, trying to force their opponent off edge and claim the territory. Small moments of nature playing out, and I can't understand why people don't want these birds around. They've got such charm to them.
In moments that simply exist without anything attached to them because the emotion is still too fragile to define, there were pumpkins at the greenmarket today. Just a few of them, clearly intended for eating rather than ornamentation, and I can't put up any argument against a pumpkin. I'm noticing the quality of light throughout the day, and when it begins and ends. Earlier, before the market, I noticed it was a little cooler in the shade in the morning than it'd been a while ago. And now I can see, and know, the seasons are beginning to turn again.
