Challenge #8

In your own space, create a wishlist. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

1. As ever, as always, as usual, transformative works based on my fics. Fanart, banners, covers, podfics, moodboards, it's always a joy and it never gets old.

2. I'll be self-indulgent and also ask for comments on my fics, as is similar tradition for this kind of wishlist.

3. There's this one Supernatural fic I read years ago I still remember and can't find anymore, written sometime between 2008 and 2012, I've looked on AO3 and tried Google searches and asked on Discord servers and storyfinding communities - it was told in short passages and vignettes and the thing I remember most vividly about it was one of those pieces was a newspaper report about multiple liquor stores being mysteriously drained of all their stock but otherwise left unrobbed, and it haunts me. And maybe someone reading this wishlist knows that fic.

4. Someone to hold my hand while we install a Dreamwidth moodtheme on my journal together. I had one back on Livejournal and I miss it, and I've never been able to suss out how to make it work here.

5. Chatting with [personal profile] petra over zoom the other day reminded me how much I miss face-to-face conversations, even if I'm not directly facing the other person. Would anyone be up for some of those? Are there any regularly hosted Zoom happy hours I might be able to pop into from time to time? It was a good way to be casually intense and spend some time talking to a friend, and I'd like to keep doing that if I can.

Challenge #9

In your own space, brag about yourself. Tell us what things you've done that you're proud of; the things that make you the wonderful person you are. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I've been told by three people, all independent of each other, I talk the same way I write, which makes me deeply happy.

I've also been told by three completely different people, who again were acting independent of each other, I have a very good phone voice, with one of them saying I managed to sound authoritative - which I'll take with gusto.

I regularly hit my daily wordcount writing goals, I'm good at making tea, I've been told I have lovely skin.

I've written stories that helped people get started writing themselves. I've written stories that have made people laugh and cry. I've written stories people have had to walk away from or skim while looking through their fingers because I depicted the conditions they live with more truthfully than anything they'd read before. I've written stories that people have told me were the first places they felt they saw themselves.

People have told me that the stories I've written - the stories I wanted to write because I so very much wanted to read them myself - helped them find themselves.

This is a space for bragging, so brag I will. And even with such room for that, I'd say that's something to be genuinely proud of.
