Marking the return.
Nov. 30th, 2019 10:10 pmThe promise of snow cut the vacation off early. There was always the potential for it, but when the forecast shifting from afternoon to morning, it was decided we'd leave the night before and be certain for safety instead of waiting for the morning and hoping for the best.
It was a great time, while we were there - solid sight of the Milky Way, beautiful views from the escarpment off into four states - and I'm glad to not spend the last night worrying about getting back. Sunday's going to be better for readjusting, laundry, and chores than it would've been on the otherside of things.
Still. Another day outside of the city wouldn't have gone amiss. Next time, perhaps.
That said, I'm going to let my email vacation notice disable itself when I'd scheduled it to do so instead of doing it early. Keep that much of the illusion of things for as long as I can.
