Oct. 29th, 2019 11:17 pmA couple nights ago I got a wide array of items from two people moving out of the building - cleaning supplies, alcohol, a decent amount of comestible goods. This made for a mutually beneficial evening because they didn't have to throw out even more stuff, and I had the ways and means to bake an apple cake and cook up some chicken and rice.
In a moment of good timing, one of them stopped by the building today when I was around to see them, and could give them some of the cake I'd put in the freezer and some of the chicken I'd put in the fridge. Given how much of both I made, it seemed the kind thing to do.
I won't lie: that they took one bite of the cake and said I ought to bake professionally was the high point of the day. It's that just behind it was sharing food with someone who helped me make it.
