Lesson learnt application.
Jun. 17th, 2018 08:54 pmYesterday at the greenmarket, I saw a woman buying her baby some strawberries, who didn't even wait for her to pay for them to start reaching out and grabbing at them. It made me think - sweet, brightly colored, the right size to fit a baby's hand, no wonder they're grabbing at them.
I said this out loud, and the baby's mother and farmer ringing her up both liked it, especially when the baby did get a strawberry that fit their hand exactly.
Then I said how great it'd be to have a strawberry big enough to fit into an adult's hand.
We all moaned at the idea.
Meanwhile, tonight I couldn't find my cherry pitter - I have no idea where it is, this is a closed system of an apartment - but didn't let that deter me and used a skewer to pit a basket of cherries before digging in and chowing down on a bowlful of pure cherry flesh. And it was glorious. On the first cherries of the season. Come their ripeness peak, it'll be even more memorable.
