Back to the real world.
Oct. 2nd, 2017 10:24 pmNothing makes me feel simultaneously more adult and completely unable to get things together than buying breakfast on my way to work. I've done it about six times now, and it's not a bad thing, not as such, but the act of it always creates these weird contradictory feelings. That here I am, this busy working person, eating two eggs and cheese on a roll on my way to the office. And that here I am, too scattered and distracted in the morning to make myself my own scrambled eggs.
And, at the end of the day, in an effort to feel some control and balance, I cooked a fritatta. The onion-induced tears helped make dealing with the news a little better, the non-emotive but still cathartic reaction.
