Remind me to hunt down an icon.

One of the parts of the Scrubs fic I'm working on that I need to get to is picking out the music. For my last two fics, it was fairly easy in that I restricted myself to single artists. That won't be the case this time: it's going to be music produced around or earlier than when the story takes place. So a song from 2005 or 2007 can't "play" in a scene that's set in 2002, no matter how much I love the song or how appropriate I think it'd be. I'd like to use male singers for women-POV sections, and vice versa, and I hope I have enough music that'll fit those arbitrary rules. I'm pretty sure I do, but I'd better cross-reference the local library system, my own hard drive, fanmixes from when people wanted you to download those things, and Nick Hornby recommendations. Just in case.

That said, I'm on the fence about using Elton John's "All The Nasties" for the very simple reason it's the Peggy Olson songvid of my heart, and while I don't vid, I still dream about the vid it could be. Fandom conflict of interest is always of the heart, never of the head.
