Nov. 21st, 2015 09:09 pmI estimate I'm ten to fifteen thousand words away from finishing the first draft of this Scrubs fic. Not counting the parts where I have to look up something incredibly specific, like a standard post-operative antibiotic, just finish writing the main action, and go back and fill in the parts where I trailed off because I had enough energy to write down some notes but not enough to finish that scene that night. Some scenes needs to be shuffled around and some others need to be written when I realized they needed to be there but didn't want to break forward momentum by going back and adding them.
With luck and persistence and inevitable setbacks, I should be finished by the end of January.
Knowing that, I'll want some beta-readers lined up for February. Especially since the story's going to be posted for a big bang challenge in April, and that's not a lot of turnaround time.
So - come January, will anyone reading this have the time to beta-read a Scrubs fic? It's Cox/Jordan, trope reexamination and reconstruction, and should end up between seventy and eighty thousand words. I'm especially looking for people who have knowledge and experience about medical work, hospital life, relationships, pregnancy and motherhood, postpartum depression, and late 90s/early 00's music, but any additional input on the project will be appreciated.
