Hope they shine.
Aug. 26th, 2015 10:56 pmWhen I got to my job interview in the Bronx this morning, I was a half-hour early, so I waited out in the main seating area, another woman sitting next to me on the bench wearing a bright flowered skirt. I read my book, she checked her phone, and we eventually got called in to different interviews.
This is only important in that almost two hours after I got out of my interview, I found myself standing next to her on the subway platform waiting for the downtown express into Manhattan. I looked her up, I looked her down, and knew it was the same very memorable skirt.
"So how did it go?" I asked.
And we spent the whole of the ride into Manhattan talking about our dream jobs, recent movies, telecommuting, networking, and generally enjoying the ever-present opportunity to be surprised that comes from living in New York City.
