It'd need to be very strong coffee.
Oct. 27th, 2014 07:47 pmFor your consideration: breakfast of sourdough toast and strong coffee.
There might be a little butter or blueberry jam on the toast. Milk in the coffee, for preference. Possibly a couple of fried eggs. But not jam and butter together, or jam with the eggs. No need to complicate anything. Sourdough bread and coffee. Very San Francisco, very delightful, very nice way to greet the day.
This idea came after having some sourdough from She Wolf Bakery, fresh from the oven, that was so good it stopped me in my tracks. I ate another slice, and another - and realized that while it didn't need anything, it could use some strong coffee to go with it.
Thankfully, I have a long and relaxing morning tomorrow, and a little bit left over. And a delightful reason to genuinely anticipate getting up early.
