Just shaking hands goodnight.
Jul. 10th, 2014 09:55 pmI'm incredibly unhappy with where my current WIP is right now, and I'm going through with it anyway. It's difficult to not keep going back and edit, especially since I realized about half of what I've written so far - about 5000 words - just doesn't need to be in there at all, but I'm not yet at a stage where I can make ongoing edits. I'm not even sure if I'm at a point where I can handle accountability drafts. I'd like to finish it and take a first pass before doing so, and I've never had that feeling with a story before.
I'm not carving the angel out of the marble. I'm not mining the marble, either. I'm at the stage in the writing where I'm excavating the quarry, and it'll be a while before I get enough marble to do any carving.
So I'd better keep going with it.
