Better news.
Dec. 18th, 2013 05:35 pmI thought tomorrow would be my last day at the internship. I was wrong. I was so wrong, I even left an hour early. This is a pattern I've gotten used to: working myself out of positions due to extreme competence. I'd find it more impressive if it didn't keep on happening.
Or, through some miracle, I got to keep the position and earn a salary along with it.
There'd been a staff party Monday, which I missed due to attending the volunteer lunch at the NYBG instead. And without any reason to come in tomorrow, with no time to plan for anything, all I got was a handshake and a nice card. The paper card came with a gift card, though, and I rather liked being able to breeze my way out of there and take a walk through a snowy park on the way back to my apartment and know I didn't have anything waiting for me tomorrow.
My supervisor will be leaving soon, too. I've since contacted the head of HR for an exit interview in her stead.
