hannah: (Library stacks - fooish_icons)
My first 'real' week of work - one where I didn't take a sick day and came in on the days I and my supervisors agreed on - went well. It got dull at times, and a little stressful when I realized the scope of a new development in the ongoing project and what that would mean for the work I'd already done, but I'm getting the hang of it. Next week will have me in at odd times, and after that it'll go back to the typical schedule. And regular paychecks, which haven't yet lost their novelty.

I've also taken to taking my shoes off while I'm there. I started yesterday when I knew I'd be standing for a few hours at the copy machine to scan several hundred pages of documents, and that my feet would hate me by the end of it. So instead of standing around in my boots - which are quite nice boots and fine for walking in, if not standing for more than a half-hour - I took them off and did the copying in my stockings. It was a lot easier on my feet and legs than if I'd done it in the boots, and actually kind of comfortable. Nobody said anything about it yesterday or when I did it again today, so I guess nobody notices or minds. And it's not like I'm doing it barefoot.
