I'm not quite sure why, given that I haven't got anyone to share them with. Maybe it's just because I found out the women in Ladies Of The Canyon were real people, and so were the brownies.
Sadly, I can't make those as-is for work - it's a nut-free facility. But there's no reason I can't sub in dried, unsweetened cranberries for them, and shift the flavor profile just a little to the left.
In other recipe tinkering, there's this one potato curry recipe I've got that calls for coriander. Rather than just leave it out, since I hate the stuff, I went ahead and cooked up some ramps and a leek and replaced the coriander with savory, oregano, and sage, giving the curry a nice savory-spicy balance and a little more substance as well.
