Thursday night.
Dec. 8th, 2011 10:38 pmOne of the things I genuinely liked about working on Ellis Island was getting people to finish their questions and answers. It's a huge irritant for me when people say half of something and then trail off. On Ellis, if people did that and I was behind the desk, I'd keep nodding and make sure I was projecting interest and concern and ask them, very gently, if there was anything else, or prompt them to finish their statement or inquiry. It happened to me again today, when I was trying to ask about buying a new pair of workout pants at the gym's shop. The woman that I asked for other sporting goods stores that might carry them trailed off halfway through her answer, and I had to gently ask her again for her to finish.
I might stop by one such store tomorrow. Well-fitting pants which don't drag on the ground aren't things I need, but they'd make life a lot simpler when I'm in the squat cage.
In other news, fits of depression seem to be treated through simple conversations with friends. Who would have guessed?
