Going stir-crazy.
Aug. 15th, 2011 11:35 pmThe way weather works on the East Coast seems to be "whatever it feels like." There are some rules - no sun from December through February, no snow from April through September - that are really more like guidelines. I'm still learning how they work, and it's bothering me on a number of levels. Both having to learn, and what I need to be taught.
It's been raining on and off since Saturday night, with the occasional bit of thunder and lightning and downpours with three inches in six hours. Three inches is about what Davis would get for all of January. Right now, with the general rain and overcast skies, I feel like it's November or December and I should act accordingly - except it's the middle of August and the very end of summer.
I'm starting to entertain the idea that the East Coast doesn't actually do seasons as such. Just weather. But that might just be its insane summer, in which case I ought to pack up and hightail it for a place that knows how to keep itself dry when it's supposed to be hot out.
