Brown paper bags could mean anything from beer to take-out to lacy underwear – and that’d been an interesting night – and he really hadn’t expected a gift and didn’t know what to guess when Beaux sat him on the couch and handed him something in tissue paper. )

I'd like to take a moment to comment that this is my 3,000 entry, and this Sunday I realized I've been at this space for seven years. Long, long time. It's longer and shorter than I thought it'd be - just, damn. I remember where I was seven years ago, back in the days of invite codes and high school, and I had no idea what I was doing then and I barely have any idea what I'm doing now. The people watching this space I've been in have seen me grow up, and that itself blows my mind. Not the growing up part, that I still know them! I've met some of the best people in the world through this journal, people that barely know me and that put up with me and that are happy to talk to me, people I think are nifty and put smiles on my face and make me wish the world was just a bit smaller so I could give them hugs in person.

There's two songs I'm flipping between - Seven Years for introspection, and All The Wine for jubiliation. So have them both, since I can't quite make up my mind.

If I'd been able to see where I am now back then, everything from drinking alcohol and coffee to having been all over the world and where I've lived and what I've managed to make, the music I listen to and the things I learned and the people I know, I think I would've been excited to turn into that person someday.

I hope that's still true in another seven years.
