Jan. 23rd, 2010 11:38 pmI've just spent three hours with Dell's help, with two of those on remote-access assistance, and my laptop is mine again, working just fine. The worst-case scenario from early this evening was that it'd be out of commission until February eighth, which was the earliest my school's IT department could schedule an appointment for me. Instead, someone managed to wipe off the malware and restore everything to working order without me having to leave the house. I feel like I should send that guy a fruit basket. In the meantime, I'm going to breathe a sigh of relief and sleep very deeply after all that tension.
