Fandom conundrum.
Remix is due in just over two weeks. I've narrowed my choices down to two stories in a fandom I enjoy, either of which would be fun to write and fairly easy to finish with a couple of sessions, but I'm still nervous.
This comes from the fact that I'd be remixing the ideas behind the stories instead of the plots themselves, and I wouldn't be worrying if I hadn't gotten a tiny bit of flack last year for it - someone said it didn't count as a Remix because I didn't follow the plot of the original, but went for the spirit of the idea in "exploring a relationship through sensory information".
I think what I need right now is a pat on the back and the assurance it's all right to go forward with my original plans for this, since I know I can do a good job if I just shed this little bit of nervousness.

(And, looking at it like that, I haven't written a proper remix in the past 3 years. I wrote around the original plot, if that makes sense. Looks like this year's remix is going the same way, too, assuming I buckle down and finish.)
