The low point of the day was working on taxes. Not for anything about the institution, or an inherent aspect of the process. We did them as a family this afternoon at my parents' place and I wasn't needed for most of the day, and when there was something I needed to provide, it took maybe five minutes to give the relevant data. It felt like something that could've been done over the phone, sparing me the frustration of nearly an hour of not knowing if I could leave or not.
It would've been nicer if the whole thing had been more up-front, or if I'd been told about how long it would've been to wait. Which is typical. I'll have to remember that for next year.
