Anywhere but here in front of me.

It's become a night of such overstimulation, I can't do anything but sit for a while. I spent the afternoon out with a friend, and four of her friends - and boy, do they like talking over each other. Also talking about people they all know I've never met, and music they all know I've never listened to. It made for a strange experience: I wasn't certain if I could point out I didn't know the person the conversation was about, so I stayed quiet.

When the conversation was on topics I could share about, I had a good time. Even with all the having to figure out when to talk, how much to say, when to jump in, how to get someone's attention - the usual conversational stressors.
