In the end, staying in won out. The rain throughout the afternoon and early evening was a major deciding factor in the process. It's something I could've managed if I really wanted to go, or if I really knew it'd be worthwhile, and it was a relief to have something that was equal parts reason and excuse. Additionally, house sparrows have taken up to stopping by my window in the little space between the wall and the AC unit. When I first heard them, I didn't recognize their particular calls and songs, and it was a pleasant surprise to find out I've attracted another species to my window.
