Driving me home.

I come from the hinterlands. I joined Livejournal back when you needed an invite code and enjoy getting to social networks early enough I have a decent chance at being able to use my name. One time in San Francisco I followed a group of strangers home from a movie theater and helped out with an armature puppetry production before heading back to my place. Another time I accidentally invited a turkey vulture land on my head and that was my fault, but thankfully neither of us got hurt. I do nearly all of my own cooking and insist on using MP3 players that run on AAA batteries without any internet connectivity. I'd rather make a phone call than send a text message. I've crossed state lines to pick rare fruit and I'm slowly pursuing trad publishing for my original projects. I enjoy wandering into places I'm not allowed and taking crackfic ideas seriously. My hobbies include weightlifting, scavenging, and validating my friends' emotional states.
I've written fic in Pirates of the Caribbean, House, Supernatural, Team Fortress 2, Deep Space Nine, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, plus a few others here and there for exchanges and challenges and because my friends encouraged me. Common themes include AUs, Jews, neurodiversity, trope reconstruction, and established relationships. I'll read just about any fandom I'm familiar with and if I'm not, I won't let that stop me if the tags look interesting. One of my prouder media accomplishments was seeing both the first and last episodes of Lost on their original broadcasts. I've been attending fandom cons for nearly 20 years and I insist that doesn't get me the status of fandom old, it just means I've been around for a long time.
And I'm happy to be here.
