I replaced my mattress cover today. This counts as radical innovation. It'd needed replacing for a few years now - it started wearing thin, then ripping, and the rips just got worse as I kept accidentally snagging the edges. But I couldn't find an exact replacement, and if I couldn't find that, I needed time to come to terms both with needing a new cover and having to adjust to a new type of cover. Never mind that it'd be underneath my sheets and I wouldn't see it. The point is in the knowing.

I got a new one last Saturday. What with the store's physical location closing at the end of the month, it seemed a good time, given the liquidation sale. I also got some silk pillowcases and a weighed blanket, and those are on the bed, too. I'll see how they impact my sleep.

Tonight should be easy, though. For context: about a week and a half ago, I made an appointment for a COVID booster on Wednesday through the website provided for that purpose. When I arrived, I found the pharmacy didn't have the vaccine and wouldn't get it in until the following week. There'd been no alert for this. I made another one for Thursday at another location, and that morning, I called the pharmacy to see if they had it in stock for the morning. They didn't, and called my appointment, but called me that afternoon to say it'd arrived. So I went in, and found out that not only were they not honoring previously made appointments, the pharmacy techs had no way to make new appointments. Standing in the physical location, at the desk, with the vaccine available, they couldn't make appointments.

So I went back to my apartment, made another appointment, and got the jab on Friday morning. Friday was fine, except I got thirsty. Saturday was okay, and I finally saw someone for my knee and got a referral for what's now my usual PT place. And today, with two-thirds of the dryers out in the laundry room and needing exponentially more time to do the laundry, with the vaccine and my knee doing their stuff, I really don't anticipate any trouble falling asleep tonight.
