Jul. 15th, 2022 09:31 pmFor a long time, I said I didn't have pets, I had a couple of plants. As of tonight, I don't even have that. The two plants I had needed some attentiveness and care I couldn't provide, and rather than put them out on the stoop for the first kind stranger, I sent them off with my brother, who's moving into a new apartment with far more light than either mine or his present one. Hopefully the big bag of soil he just bought, unrelated to this, will be useful too.
If it doesn't work out, he can compost them and save me the trouble. For two plants I scavenged secondhand from people moving out and leaving behind in the recycling vestibule, both lasted quite a few years, which is no mean feat. And if it does work out, then maybe I'll have to do the grown-up thing and buy a couple new plants myself. Go to a store and look seriously instead of idly for a change.
