Checking in.

It's starting to smell like spring in the mornings. When I open the window to put seeds out for the pigeons, there's a lightness to the air - the nighttime's chill isn't weighed down anymore. It's still winter. There was a light dusting of snow yesterday that didn't stick around, and some paths in the parks remain covered and will likely stay that way for a little while longer. But the days are longer, and every morning, I can smell it coming.

Some weeks ago, I found out Citibike changed its rental policies. I wasn't consulted on this, but as a result of the adjustment, I've now got the key fob option. Another reason to look forward to summer: outdoor biking. Moving my body through physical space. My rides have gotten pretty short these last few weeks. The alternate route I found is pretty decent, and now that I've got the fob and can get a bike from pretty much any available station, I should have an easier time of taking it the full way around.
