I'll need more birdseed soon.
Feb. 1st, 2021 01:31 pmIt's been snowing for over twelve hours. Every time I look out the window, there's more coming down, and I'm utterly enraptured and delighted. It's not always heavy, and sometimes it falls slowly, and there's going to be more of it to come.
That said, I can't get a good idea of how much snow has accumulated so far, because the pigeons are still coming over to my window and disrupting the snow that's fallen there.
I'm not mad about this. They know me. They know to come, in rain or snow or shine. They're quite reliable that way. So I give them their seeds, as usual, and they get fed, perching on top of the snow, unusually but still eagerly.
Even the sparrows have joined them. They're not flying away when I come to the window - either that's how hungry they are, or they've finally come to understand I'm not a threat when the window's closed. Whichever it is, I'm happy to see them.
