Rosy-minded haze.
Jan. 2nd, 2021 09:15 pmBecause these things make me ridiculously happy and it'll be ages before I have to purchase a monthly unlimited MetroCard again, I bought a conversation with James Marsters tonight. It's going to take hours to come down from it. Part of it's that this is someone whose work has had a tremendous net positive impact on my life and I had the opportunity for meaningful conversation with him. Part of it's that the meaningful conversation was about the work of writing - songwriting, comic books, novels. How words get put together. Talking about that to anyone is a joy.
I wore my cherry dress, same as usual. I don't know if it makes a difference to make me memorable to have always worn the same dress, but it's something I like to wear, so that was a lovely mood boost.
Also lovely was that I asked him if he'd heard of the 33 1/3 series, in particular, the one for Pink Moon. He hadn't, and while I showed him the two books in the series I own - the ones for Court and Spark and Let's Talk About Love - he got out his glasses to write it down. He got his glasses out to check out the books I held up to the camera and wrote it down because he wanted to read it.
It took something like twenty minutes for my leg to stop bouncing, and I can't stop myself from smiling.
