Keeps you on your feet.
Oct. 5th, 2020 10:10 amI ended a job last Wednesday and I start a new one tomorrow. I've never had such a fast turnaround time between jobs before.
Okay, I'd already applied for this position some weeks ago, and the organization is small enough that I sent it to a specific person instead of the general HR department, and because I talked to that specific person and made such a good impression on them that they figured I might as well just get started tomorrow.
It's a part-time telecommuting job where I'll be an hourly contractor. It'll be close to a lot of things I've done before, and I imagine that while there's going to be stress involved in starting as well as the ongoing work, as with any job, I'll be able to manage it well enough with tea, bike rides, and knowing I'm being paid to do work at my computer, indoors, in my own apartment.
Tomorrow morning, I get started. Today, I celebrate with a latte.
